| There is a selection of grants available to help with the change to biomass systems. Energy Saving Scotland – small business loans (formerly Loan Action Scotland) Energy Saving Scotland – small business loans is now administered by the Energy Savings Trust. The scheme allows a business to borrow between £1,000 and £100,000 interest-free and repayable up to 4 years and would be used to help a business to reduce its energy consumption, saving both money and CO2. For more information follow the link above Scottish Rural Development Programme 2007 - 2013 EU funding for the development of rural policy in Scotland by drawing up a new Scottish Rural Development Plan. A key to this will be the further development of Land Management Contracts. These are all about making farming and forestry more sustainable, and the Regulation, through its three main axes of competitiveness, land management and wider rural development, covers all the key elements of sustainable development. Scottish Community and Householder Renewables Initiative Supplies advise, support and funding Scottish Biomass Heat Scheme The new Scottish Biomass Heat Scheme is Scotland-wide, with funding of £2 million from April 2009 to March 2011. The Scheme will provide grants for installation of biomass heating systems in business premises and district heating demonstrators. The Scheme will prioritise support for small-medium sized enterprises, and is restricted to heat-only biomass applications.
